Deliverable 2.17

Abstract: A practical report/document with the concept of approaching targets or reference conditions with a flexible, change based methodology. - Indication of climate change sensitive areas for adaptive management of aquatic systems

This report describes the application of a new biotic index using potentially sensitive EPT species (climate change sensitivity index). With this index we focus on prioritizing areas needing climate change mitigation measures. We exemplify at different scales,  country (European member states),  federal state (North-Rhine Westphalia) and  river catchment (Ruhr) scale. The emphasis is on the applicability of a biotic index. We will subsequently use climate and freshwater.info website as a platform for enabling the downloading of a country-specific lists, so the index can be accessed and used instantly (oncea manuscript on the new index has been accepted).
