Report on methodology for assessing impacts of climate change and acidification processes (in collaboration with WP4)

Most modelling studies of soil and surface water recovery from acidification have assumed a constant influence of climate over the simulation period. Several recent studies have shown links between climatic fluctuations and surface water trends on decadal timescales. Prediction of future water quality using models such as MAGIC should thus take into account both changes in acid deposition as well as possible changes in climate. This report outlines a stepwise procedure for incorporating climate change in the current version of MAGIC (version 777 Drøbak, dated 14 May 2003).
